MISSION & VALUES

Our Core Values

At SOL Community Arts, we are deeply committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as central to our mission. We strive to create opportunities that celebrate the richness and complexity of all identities, with a special focus on underserved communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ youth.

Our work is rooted in partnerships with local educators, arts organizations, and mentors to provide scholarships that empower vulnerable youth. We aim to foster a sense of belonging and creativity by uplifting marginalized voices and ensuring access to transformative arts experiences.

We recognize that building inclusive, impactful programs requires continuous reflection and growth. SOL Community Arts is committed to language justice and is working toward becoming a bilingual organization to better serve our community. Together, we are creating a space where young people can thrive through artistic self-expression and connection.

Mission

SOL Community Arts works to provide scholarships and resources that make performance and visual arts more accessible to underserved youth. Through intentional outreach, community collaboration, and arts advocacy, we empower young people to explore their creativity, foster self-expression, and spark positive social change.

Vision

Our vision is to create a future where every young person has access to the transformative power of the arts. By partnering with educators, arts organizations, and community leaders, we aim to foster creativity, resilience, and a sense of belonging among underserved youth. Together, we hope to inspire the next generation of artists and dreamers by breaking down barriers to arts education and opportunities.

Land Acknowledgement

SOL Community Arts acknowledges that we are located on the ancestral lands of the Southern Pomo and Graton Rancheria people. We honor the resilience and contributions of Indigenous communities while recognizing the lasting impacts of colonization and displacement. We extend our gratitude to the Southern Pomo and Graton Rancheria people for allowing us to work and build on their land.

Accessibility

SOL Community Arts is dedicated to ensuring that the opportunities we provide are accessible to individuals of all abilities. We work with our partners and collaborators to remove barriers to arts education and participation. As we grow, we remain committed to improving access for underserved youth and creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcomed and supported.
